Purple Mountain Grown is operated by farmers Nazirahk Amen and Amanda Heinbaugh (and family!) with an intent to support local food sustainability through regenerative practices. Purple Mountain Grown grows food with the understanding that a healthy soil microbiome is created through the use of compost, cover cropping, and other soil health building practices. A healthy soil microbiome creates life-giving, nutrient-dense foods that support healthy humans with healthy gut microbiomes.
We are now selling our offerings down the street at Takoma Park Farmers Market, with pop-ups at Dupont Circle and Silver Spring Farmers Markets.
